The rod cast like a champ as expected. Has lots of reserve power to throw the large bugs we use on smallmouth bass on the James and Shenandoah Rivers. Easy casting and lots of control. I talked to Albemarle Anglers and we did a guided trip. The rivers were blown out, but we fished a lake. My dad says, "It was the best fishing experience he's ever had." He's fished for over 40 years. We caught all the fish we wanted and received excellent tips and advise for beginner fly-fishers. We'll be back! I want to inquire about a rod, reel, total package combo. I want to keep my future business and purchases with a company that made an excellent first impression. John said that the flow was 2000 but that didn't mean anything to me so I fished Big Bend Farm. The water was chocolate milk but I tried anyway. I caught two branches and lost two flies and caught no fish. I guess I should have listened to John but I probably will never be in the area again so I had to try. But I failed!!!
