Ladies, have you ever wanted to try your hand at fly fishing or meet other ladies that fly fish. This one is for you. No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided if needed. These classes will teach you everything you need know to get a great start in the sport. If you are already an angler these classes will help fine tune and develop new skills and techniques.
Below you find the list of ladies classes for winter and spring 2018. Please, be sure to call and signup for the classes you would like to attend. Space is limited to 10 participants per class. You are welcome to signup for as many or few as you would like.
Wednesday, January 17th 6:00-8:00pm Knot tying class at the Albemarle Angler. Cost, free.
You will learn a verity of the most commonly used knots.
Sunday, January 21st. Full day on the water. Location, Trout Unlimited section of Moormans river. Cost $75.00
All on the water classes will start with casting instruction, information about the location we will be fishing and proper fish handling. This class will focus on a number effective winter techniques.
Sunday, February 18th. Full day on the water. Location, Big Bend Farm, Bath County. Cost $75.00
Class will focus on large/larger water techniques, casting distances and line management.
Sunday, March 25th. Full day on the water. Location, GT section of the Moormans river. Cost $75.00
Class will focus on dry flies and fishing multiple flies at the same time, tandem/dropper techniques.
Sunday, April 29th. Full day on the water. Location, Sugar Hollow Farm, Moormans river. Cost $75.00
This will be the conclusion to our trout classes. This class will focus on streamers. However, all the techniques from the above classes will come in handy and produce fish.
Sunday, May 20th. Full day float trip, canoe/kayak on the Rivanna river. Cost $110-$114 includes kayaks and canoes.
We will be floating the Rivanna river for smallmouth bass. Class will focus on effective spring smallmouth techniques.
Sunday, June 24th. Full day float trip, canoe/kayak on the Shenandoah river. Cost $110-$145 includes kayaks and canoes.
Class will focus on top water and subsurface techniques for smallmouth bass.
