A lifelong angler and Virginia native, Adam Holt has spent decades exploring the region’s streams, rivers, and backcountry waters. As the owner of The Albemarle Angler, Adam combines his deep knowledge of local fisheries with a passion for connecting people to the outdoors. Whether he's guiding a first-time fly fisher on the Moormans or hiking around Ivy Creek, Adam brings patience, expertise, and an easygoing spirit to every adventure. His vision for the shop goes beyond gear—it's about building a community where stories are shared, skills are passed on, and every cast matters.

From learning to fish as a kid in Virginia to finding her fly fishing footing in the backcountry streams of Colorado, Lila has a passion for fly fishing and the outdoors. Lila loves helping customers find their fit not only in the gear room but among the sophisticated apparel and lifestyle gear. Outside of the store, she is pursuing her Masters at the University of Virginia and spending time fishing with her dog.

I come from a long line of fishermen and have fished from coast to coast. I grew up fishing the mountain streams of Greene and Madison county and love chasing bass and trout whenever I can.  I used my free time in college and the Marine Corps to explore new places to wet a line. When I’m not fishing I spend time with my wife and son and am active in my church.
