We offer guide trips on our most productive local public waters. Additionally, if you would like to have a guide help you refine your skills and understanding of a particular stream we would be more than happy to do so. With decades of experience exploring and fly fishing in Virginia our guides will be sure you come away from your day with some new tips, tricks and knowledge on how to make your time on the water more successful.
No previous fly fishing experience is necessary. All of the guides at the Albemarle Angler are not only outstanding guides but, patient, expert instructors as well. There is no such thing as a dumb question. Please, do not hesitate to ask questions and have your guide give you examples. Your guide is a wealth of knowledge for everything from knots, fly selection, reading the water, approaching the water/fish, different casting techniques, locations, best times of year to fish for different species. If a question comes to mind, just ask we are happy and eager to share our knowledge with you.

With everything from tailwaters holding large stream-born brown trout, large freestone rivers with plenty of room for casting to eager rainbows and brookies, spring creeks, and steep gradient brook trout stream coming off the Blue Ridge Mountains. All trout trips require each angler to have a valid Virginia freshwater fishing license. Depending on where your trip will take place a trout stamp and forest permit may also be needed.
