Fishing Report.
Most of Virginia has been experiencing a very mild winter so far. Mountain stream brook trout fishing has been great. On the warmer days the dry fly fishing has been great. The weather/rain has been keeping water levels up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and a little to high in the lower laying trout streams.
The brown trout egg planting that took place in the South River seems to had had good success. Sounds like a large number of the eggs did hatch. Time will tell.
The James, New and Shenandoah Rivers are back to great flows after experiencing very low flows this fall and early winter. Musky fishing has really improved with the higher flows.
If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook you have probably noticed our new club water, Sachem’s Pass. Sachem’s offers rainbow, brown and brook trout with fish in the 5+lbs range.
Hatches, The main insect coming off right now is a black stone fly. We have seem some caddis and blue wing olives as well.
Please keep an eye out for more fishing reports. We will be doing our best to post a fishing report once a week.
