Spring/summer is right around the corner. For many of us that love the outdoors and Virginia waterways. it’s a very exciting time of year.

Whether you’re an angler of just love spending time on the water, you may have spent the winter months researching boats/rafts trying to decide which one will best fit your needs. With all the options out there it can be a little overwhelming. If you have never owned a raft/boat understanding what you’re looking at and reading online can be difficult to understand. Manufactures sure make things look great online. Throwing boats off bridges, speeding around with a motor, standing up in the boat fishing.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of great boats/options. I know because over the past 20 years, I have owned and used a lot of different boats. Many of them served me very well in very specific situations/waterflows. As a fly fishing guide, I’m on the water a lot in everything from very low to very high water levels. The one boat I own that is great in every river condition I fish/guide in is my SmtihFly. Not only is it great in every condition, it is hands down my favorite boat to row. Again, I really like my other boats but I love my SmithFly.

Enough of my rambling especially since I warn you about to much trust in what you read online. Please don’t take my word about these boats. Come by the shop and see them for yourself. We are happy to go over the boat with you, answer any questions, we love talking about them. With a little advanced notice we are even happy to get you out for a test row.
