It seems with all the Covid-19 news that rivers might just be the safest place to be.
There is never a good time for an outbreak like the world is having right now. If you are an angler in Virginia you might disagree. What better time is there in Va for hitting the water then spring? Insects hatching and happy feeding fish everywhere.
Trout fishing brook trout streams such as the Rapidan, Saint Mary’s and most streams coming of the Blue Ridge mountains couldn’t be better. All our private waters are stocked and fishing great as well. We have added a new water Sachems Pass. Please give us a call for info on Sachems Pass.
If you are a smallmouth bass angler, The James River, Shenandoah River and New River will start fishing very well any day now and will only improve as spring progresses. If you love catching smallmouth on poppers as much as we do we are fully stocked on Booglebugs. It sounds like due to the Covid-19 situation in China it might be very difficult to find Booglebugs this summer. We do have a good stock but they go fast.
Maybe you really like a challenge? If so musky are what hit the water. We hope that with the full moon of March falling on the 9th that the musky will hold off until the full moon of April to spawn. As always we hope that anglers will stop fishing for musky once water temps stay above 72. It’s just to hard on the fish and musky are to few and far between to take any chance of them dying.
We hope everyone stays healthy during the Covid-19 outbreak. If there is anything we can do to help get you on the water please give us a call, (434) 977-6882.
See you on the water.
