I’ll do my best to not sound like a broken record but, it’s more of the same. Amazing fishing. Not a bad thing to keep repeating. Water levels are getting very low in the James, Shenandoah, and Rivanna however, the latest addition to our guide fleet makes worrying about depth a thing of the past. If I tried to describe what this boat can do you probably wouldn’t believe it. All I say is, we have floated through spots that canoers and kayakers have gotten out and dragged their boats across.
With that being said, on to the fun fishing stuff. The James has been fishing a little funny/tough lately. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? We have been getting into a nice fish here and there but, they have been few and far between. The Rivanna has been fishing great. Outstanding smallies, largemouth, and the gar action couldn’t be better.
Saving the best for last, the Shenandoah. Wow. If you haven’t fished it this summer? Do it! The flows are low the Lynnwood gage is reading 378cfs, 2.48′ and the Luray gage is 529cfs, 2.21′. The numbers and size of fish it’s been producing is nothing short of amazing. The top water/surface bite is on and on strong.
