Fall Gear Exchange

We are excited to host our second gear exchange on Saturday, October 17, 2026 here at the Albemarle Angler! Based on community feedback from our summer swap meet, we are going to be running these events twice annually. 

Have a rod, reel, pack, waders, bag, or other fly fishing gear you’re no longer using? Bring it in, set your price, and we’ll try to sell it for you.

Looking for a deal? Come shop used gear from other local anglers and see what hidden gems you can find!

We have already collected some great items including rods, reels, vintage gear, lines, and much more! Please make sure your items meet the following requirements:

• • Ensure your items are clean and in good condition.
  • Only bring items you think fellow anglers would be excited to have. For example, leaky waders or damaged rods likely won't make the cut.
  • Vices and tools are fantastic, but no loose materials please.

Once you have checked over your items, here is how the Swap Meet will work:

• • Price your items and ensure this is displayed. The more details the better. For example, have a reel that is spooled with line? What size reel is it, what line is on there, how old is that line... etc.
  • Bring your items to the shop by Thursday, October 15th.
  • We will offer the items for sale on your behalf during our event on October 17th. 
  • The store will take a small commission on anything that sells: 25% for cash payouts or 10% if you choose store credit.
  • We'll pay you in cash or store credit within 48 hours after the event so we have time to get everything organized.
